Why We Collect Your Data (Purpose of Processing)

We process your personal data only for specific, clearly defined purposes. This includes responding to your enquiries about the EDEAS program, processing your application and enrolment, and delivering the course — including managing attendance and tracking academic progress. We also process your data to facilitate the placement process with recruiting companies, and to publish placement records on our website strictly with your explicit consent.

Additionally, we may use your information to send you programme updates, batch schedules, and event-related communications. Your data may also be processed where necessary to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations, and to improve our website, content, and services through analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their marketing purposes.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, we process your personal data on two primary legal grounds. The first is consent — when you voluntarily submit your data through our forms, WhatsApp, or the enrolment process, you consent to its processing for the stated purpose. The second is legitimate use — where processing is necessary for fulfilling services you have requested, such as course delivery and placement facilitation, or for complying with legal obligations.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at ai.escala.ai@gmail.com. Please note that withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that was carried out prior to the withdrawal.

How We Store and Protect Your Data

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include access controls ensuring that only authorised staff can access student and enquiry data, encrypted communication channels for sensitive data transfers, regular review of access logs and security protocols, and secure storage of physical documents such as enrolment records and ID copies in locked facilities.

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Enquiry data from prospective students who do not enrol is deleted within 12 months of last contact, unless you request earlier deletion.

Sharing of Personal Data

We may share your personal data with certain categories of recipients, and only for the purposes stated in this policy. During the active placement process, your resume and profile data may be shared with recruiting partner companies, with your knowledge. We also use third-party service providers for website hosting (Framer), analytics (Google Analytics), and communication (WhatsApp Business); these providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies. Additionally, we may disclose data to legal authorities when required by law, court order, or government directive.

We do not transfer personal data outside India, except through services such as Google Analytics and Framer whose servers may be located abroad. These services operate under their own data protection commitments.

You also have the right to request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you have the right to raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer. Children’s Data

We may collect personal data of individuals under 18 years of age during the enrolment process, as some students may be 17 years old at the time of joining. In such cases, we obtain verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian before processing the minor’s data, as required under the DPDP Act. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18 through our website forms without prior parental consent.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to cause harm to affected individuals, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India as required under the DPDP Act, and will inform affected individuals promptly in plain language, explaining the nature of the breach, its possible consequences, and the steps we have taken in response. We will also provide contact details for further assistance.
